#BehindTheScenes

My main goal for this one was to create an experience that would be possible only in a VR setting. A game that would make use of being in 360 degree space and couldn't be directly ported to PC. Because of that, we needed something that would force the player to look around and stay in strange poses. And that's how a game about sending lasers across the room was born.

The first challenge we needed to face was having only one headset for the entire team. I had to make all sorts of debug modes to regularly test the entire VR game without VR. The second problem was the level design. The game mechanics turned out not to be as strong as I thought and coming up with interesting puzzles was a real struggle. And lastly, it turned out that people are not very good at holding their hands still (especially if the hand is in an unnatural position and the person is not looking at it). And our game heavily relied on pointing at different objects in the distance... using both hands simultaneously. Yeah, I can now admit it wasn't the easiest game to play :P

On the plus side, we managed to make an atmospheric game that was a truly VR experience without mindlessly copying solutions from PC games. And the general structure of the game was pretty neat. And I'm a big fan of those pink, energetic, smooth level transitions. ⚡⚡⚡
